  Meet Captain Hal Tarpley
I grew up on the casting deck of my father’s boat, Captain Milton Tarpley, who started Inshore Charters back in 1992. That is where I learned how to read a tide, spot nervous water, and hunt the grass flats of the Florida Panhandle.
I’ve been guiding these waters full-time for over twenty-four years across St. Andrew Bay, West Bay, North Bay, and East Bay. My trips are strictly light-tackle artificial lures and fly fishing. We don't anchor up and drown live bait on the bottom. We drift pristine grass flats for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder, or pole shallow marsh edges and sandbars to sight-cast to cruising fish.
Maritime Background & Credentials
Alongside running flats skiffs, my background includes years working commercial vessels—delivering offshore supply vessels and crew boats in the Caribbean and South America, as well as running salvage and un-groundings with Sea Tow.
My current U.S. Coast Guard credentials and marine certifications include:

• USCG Master Captain’s License (with Commercial Assistance Towing Endorsement)
  
• STCW Certified & Radar Unlimited (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping)
  
• Advanced Marine Firefighting & Water Survival
  
• Certified Marine Medical Provider, First Aid & CPR

Whether we are poling the 17' Stealth in inches of water or drifting the 23' Bay Reef with a family crew, the goal is simple: put you on fish, read the water properly, and bring you back to the hill safely.
